Building Resilience
As an instructor with Outward Bound, Kaleena has worked with talented expedition leaders and staff from all over the world to cultivate meaningful outdoor experiences.
Through challenging outdoor expeditions and skillful support, participants develop resilience, cultivate compassion, and grow as leaders.


Ocean Research
A certified diver with a strong science background, Kaleena’s connection to the natural world extends beyond the surface. She contributes to training young science divers, helping the next generation develop skills, curiosity, and a deep respect for the underwater world.
She has also worked with Sea Education Association to teach seamanship and oceanographic research aboard the SSV Corwith Cramer.

Consisting of five chapters throughout Florida and Georgia, “The mission of Scubanauts International is to educate teens in the marine sciences, enabling them to make a positive impact on the environment and empowering them to become tomorrow’s leaders.” Learn more here.
Food System Education
Beyond the water and wilderness, She is passionate about nurturing communities and the environment through teaching sustainable practices. She has worked with individuals and groups to start and maintain community gardens and compost systems, fostering connection, stewardship, and hands-on learning.
Working with UF/IFAS Extension, Kaleena worked with community members in the Tampa Bay Area to build and maintain community garden. During her time here, she taught over 600 community members how to compost, hosted a national composting training in collaboration with the US Composting Council and Compost Research and Education Foundation, and created an online curriculum that teaches Hillsborough County residents how to Plan, Build, Grow, and Maintain a community garden.
